New York City’s Local Law 196 has greatly heightened the scope of site safety training since it is obligated for construction workers that fall under NYC jurisdiction to complete 40 hours of safety training, which also includes the OSHA New York 10 training since it’s considered as a prerequisite to apply for an SST card. Since compliance with Local Law 196 is mandatory to prevent safety violations and penalties to ensure the continuity of the operation of construction work, the OSHA New York 10 Construction card serves as proof to employers to demonstrate compliance with Local Law 196 and meet New York City Site Safety Training (SST) standards mandated by the Local Law 196.
To qualify for the New York OSHA 10-Hour Construction course, you must achieve a minimum score of 70%. You’ll have three attempts to pass both the quizzes and the final exam.
If you fail all three attempts or let your course expire, you can use the Course Reset Button once to start over. However, if you reencounter the same situation, you’ll be locked out of the online training course and must repurchase it to start your training.
Once you’ve completed the New York OSHA 10-Hour and finished the course evaluation survey, you can print the downloadable OSHA New York 10-Hour certificate. Moreover, within 90 days, you will receive your DOL/New York OSHA 10-Hour card via mail on behalf of the U.S. Department of Labor.
